When Dr. John Upledger began his work studying the craniosacral system, he was guided by the idea that the human body knows how to heal itself. The craniosacral rhythm is a subtle pulse in the human body, and a disruption in this pulse can reverberate as discomfort or disfunction across the entire body.
Craniosacral therapy is non-invasive and non-threatening. One basic principle is that light pressure over a long time can yield equal or better results to deeper pressure over a short time. Treatment is gentle, with the client fully clothed. The therapist focuses on easing restrictions around the skull and spine to promote the movement of the meninges and cerebrospinal fluid. This brings vitality to the nerve center of the body, relaxes soft tissue, realigns the craniosacral rhythm, and diminishes physical symptoms.
Craniosacral therapy is a great treatment on its own, but we can combine it with massage to customize your session and results!
